Body percussion is using your body to create sounds. Body percussion allows for students to connect with their body in a musical way. Students are engaged and learning how their body can be a musical instrument. In a classroom setting I would first show students an example of body percussion. Then I would lead a body percussion activity for students that involve simple steps and rhythms. Then I would let students form groups to create their own body percussion performance. In an example below, my peers and I choose Frozen 2's "Into the Unknown" to create a body percussion routine to. We had lots of fun creating it, wore matching hats and even had audience while we recorded! Enjoy!
